We Came, We Saw, We Road Course Raced

Indy’s On Our Mind

Our weekend in Indy went way too quick. This was our first race event getting to meet NASCAR fans and Indy Car patrons and that mix was a blast! We were located right across from the Speedway’s main gate and the buzz of excitement in the air from all the fans walking by was electric. The interest everyone had in our mission and our campaign was unrivaled and we had the best volunteers with us from American Liver Foundation as well as the Indiana State Department of Health. The collective knowledge those groups brought to the table was astonishing and any question a fan had was instantly answered. We had surveys being taken, Hep C tests getting done, and autographs being signed (on Sunday when Will joined the booth).

That’s How It Goes Sometimes

The Xfinity Pennzoil 150 race took place on Saturday 8/14 and, after qualifying, Will started 9th in the lineup. He had an impressive race, after a minor trip through the grass he dropped back to 21st, but quickly found his way up to 8th with three laps to go in the second stage. Unfortunately, on his way off pit lane, a fire broke out on the car, behind the right side tire, coming up into the car where Will was sitting, forcing him to get out and end his day early. We’re extremely thankful he was able to get out in time and no injuries occurred. The Foundation is tremendously proud of Will and the 24 team at Sam Hunt Racing, they showed how competitive they are in Indy and we cannot wait to see them out on the track again soon.

Blood Drives Are The Place To Be

The Jamestown Blood Drive is this Friday, 8/20, from 12 PM to 6 PM. Did you know blood is a huge necessity for a liver transplant? There is currently a blood shortage happening in our country and your donation could help save a life. The Foundation, along with Will, will be at the drive in Jamestown, join us by clicking the button below the photo and using code “Jamestown19”.
