The Will Rodgers Liver Heath Foundation Has Some Events In The Works

We're officially past the half way mark in 2021, how crazy! The Foundation has been working hard to get more events planned so we can help end the stigma around liver disease and bring the opportunity of getting a free Hep C test to as many people as possible.

Our Time In Nashville

June 18th-20th was a historical race weekend at the Nashville Super Speedway. It was also a historical moment for the Will Rodgers Liver Health Foundation... it was our first event!

Our booth was located in the fan zone before the Camping World Truck Series, Xfinity Series, and Cup Series races all weekend. We enjoyed meeting all the race fans there and being able to spread information on how to take care of your liver as well as recognizing signs of liver disease. We also had Hep C testing available on the Saturday of the Xfinity race. We partnered with Nashville CARES and the American Liver Foundation to help with the testing of 82 fans. Of those 82 tests, three of them came back positive and we were able to instantly get information about Hep C into their hands, as well as help guide them in their next steps to care.

On the Sunday before the Cup race, Will Rodgers was at the booth with us signing autographs and taking photos with all the fans at the track. We cannot get over how great our experience was at the Speedway and we know all the fans feel the same.

Catch Us At The Lake

This weekend, 7/24/21, the Will Rodgers Liver Health Foundation will be heading to the Dragon Boat Festival in Salisbury, North Carolina. This event is free to attend and is located at Rowan Shrine Club on High Rock Lake. There will be food trucks, vendors, entertainment, over 20 teams participating in a rowing competition...and us! The foundation is really looking forward to being a part of this exciting event and continuing the growth of liver health knowledge. We will also have the opportunity to get tested for Hep C for anyone who is interested. Come join us, and many other groups, at the Rowan Dragon Boat Festival from 9am-3pm. It'll be a great way to spend your Saturday!

Racetrack Traveling

The foundation has a strong love for auto racing. Our founder, Will Rodgers, currently races in the Xfinity series and grew up with a love for all things that had an engine. Attending fan zones at the different tracks around the US is an absolute favorite for us. We are currently planning on being in the fan zone at Watkins Glen on August 6th-8th. Watkins Glen is a road coarse in the NASCAR circuit and it is located in New York.

After that, we are headed to Indianapolis for the road course racing that will be going on the weekend of August 13th-15th. Will is racing that race, which makes the weekend that much more special for us.

The final weekend of August is Daytona weekend and we wouldn't want to miss out on that! Catch us in the fan zone the 28th-29th.

We plan to have Hep C testing available for all three weekends and will have plenty of #RaceToEndHepC merch to giveaway. Come and see us!

No Bad Blood Here

We've partnered with the American Red Cross to join some local blood drives and talk about the importance of donating blood from a healthy liver standpoint. Did you know that blood is an essential part of a transplant? The liver is one of the most common transplants in the US and the need for blood donations is always there.

We will be at a few different drives in Virginia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Keep an eye out for those official dates. Check out what Drives are going on near you at rcblood.org/donate.
